Ten Good Reasons Why You Should Send Flowers

By Janice Anderson

Since time immemorial, flowers have been used to send messages of affection, love, joy, and even discontent. As a matter of fact, they have been used as a coded language dating back to Victorian times, called floriography. Whatever the occasion, flowers could be the most effective & nearly fool-proof way of showing what you feel. Here are 10 reasons why you may want to send a flower arrangement to someone special to you:

1. Birthdays - A nice way of letting a birthday celebrator know that she is special is with a nice flower arrangement. Oftentimes, these bouquets are accompanied by fancy wrappers and balloons.

2. Graduation - Sending flowers to someone on his/her graduation is a fantastic way to acknowledge this special day of achievement.

3. Anniversary or Valentine's Day - The traditional "dozen red roses" couldn't be any more romantic on special days like this. Some florists even offer chocolates or teddy bears to be included in the arrangement.

4. Housewarming - A beautiful, decorative flower arrangement, or even a fruit and flower arrangement, will bring color & life to a new home.

5. Funeral - In the rather unfortunate event that a family member dies, a funeral flower arrangement is a well-appreciated thoughtful gesture that can show how much you care for that person & those he/she left behind.

6. Mother's Day - During Mother's Day, sending an arrangement of flowers to your mom is a great way of showing appreciation for all the things she has done. This day is one of the busiest days for florists every year, because it is also the most common way of sending love to mothers

7. New Baby - A child's birth is yet another good reason for celebrating life. A celebratory flower arrangement is simple, but shows a lot.

8. Host or hostess gift - Attending a party or dinner is a privilege, so bringing a fresh cut bouquet of flowers (often accompanied by wine) is a great gesture & is ever appreciated.

9. Congratulations - Sending a gift and/or flowers to celebrate a loved one's achievement is usually unexpected, and very sweet, which makes it so very special.

10. Only because - Sometimes, sending flower bouquets only because you're thinking of someone, is one of the best reasons of all! - 32376
